Public Transport

Berlin's integrated public transport system (known as the BVG) is the best way to get around. An interconnected three-zone system (ABC) which only requires one ticket, allows you to hop from bus to underground (U-Bahn) to surface rail (S-Bahn) and tram with one ticket. Tickets you are available at ticket machines at every underground station, on every S-Bahn platform and in the buses. Take care validate your single ride ticket in the machine next to the machine that sold the ticket and be able to produce your ticket when asked for it by transit staff. Otherwise the fine is quite heavy!
